About

Robert Dmytruk currently living in British Columbia, Canada

Dmytruk has reinvented himself in consecutive bodies of work which have been exhibited extensively over the course of his long career.  He was born in Edmonton, Alberta where he studied art and worked as a visual arts educator.

Dmytruk’s most recent work invites words like instinctive, fantastical, playful, whimsical and at times naively objective. Much of his new work merges painting with sculpture. Combinations of oil, acrylic and spray paint and charcoal are layered in order to achieve desired results.  Patterns, textures, shapes and audacious colors are integrated to complement a kaleidoscopic of harmonious compositions.  Emerging from his studio, in 2024 are three dimensional paintings which reflect his present day exploration of new materials used to create sculptural forms.
